Big Ideas: Lynne Cooke15/10/2018
Saturday 20 October, 3pm at Whitechapel Gallery
Lynne Cooke, Senior Curator at the National Gallery of Art, Washington DC, presents a lecture exploring new developments in contemporary curatorial practice as it increasingly engages with non-canonical forms of art.
Grounding her talk in her own practice, Cooke considers how several contemporary artists she worked with proposed new models for thinking and considers the shifting relations between modernism and self-taught artists of diverse kinds – folk, naïve, visionary outsider and others.
This event is supported by The Stanley Picker Trust.
