Edward Winters is a studio practitioner who also writes on aesthetics
Edward Winters studied postgraduate painting at th Slade School of Fine Art before taking a BA and M.Phil in Philosophy at Birkbeck College, London. He then wrote up his PhD in Philosophy at UCL. He was co-director of History and Theory in the School of Architecture, Polytechnic of Central London, later University of Westminster. He then became Head of Fine Art at West Dean College, teaching post-graduate Fine Art and writing th programmes in cluding the new University of Sussex MFA. He has taaught at the University of Kent. He writes widely on aesthetics and art criticism, partucluarly on contemporary art and painting. He contributes to international conferences on aesthetics and is a member of the British Society of Aesthetics, the European Society of Aesthetics, and the American Society of Aesthetics. He continues to make fine art at his ACME studio in Deptford, SE London.
