Freelance writer, editor and researcher
Twenty years in the education field as a teacher and lecturer in history of art and contemporary art, followed by posts as managing and senior editor on several art publications, such as Public Art Journal and Contemporary magazine, and in-house and freelance editorial roles at publishers including Phaidon Press and Thames & Hudson. Advanced member of SfEP and involved in training new editors. Recent writing and editorial projects include The Public Sculpture of Outer South and West London (2011), The Phaidon Archive of Graphic Design (2012), Suzanne Hudson, Painting Now (2015). Ongoing research interests include historical and contemporary sculpture, contemporary drawing and interdisciplinary subjects such as art–science and art–architecture.
For a variety of reasons I am now stepping down from editorial work to focus on a new project - researching and promoting contemporary abstract drawing - which will operate through on an online gallery (www.thedrawingworks.com), occasional pop-up show shows and participation in fine art fairs in the UK and abroad. A launch show is planned for September 2016 in London - please visit the site and join the mailing list if you would like an invitation.
