Curator of Modern & Contemporary British Art and Archive at Tate
Curator at Tate since 2006, currently its Curator of Modern & Contemporary British Art, and Archive. Previously deputy editor of Art Monthly for nine years. Freelance art critic and art historian since 1988.
Recently curated the displays 'Keith Arnatt: Sausages and Food' (Tate Britain 2013) and 'Ian Hamilton Finlay' (Tate Britain 2012-13); co-curated the exhibition 'Barry Flanagan, Early Works 1965-1982' (Tate Britain 2011) and author of 'Richard Hamilton Swingeing London 67 (f)' (Afterall/MIT Press 2012).
Currently researching Alexander Trocchi and British countercultures of the 1960s and 1970s.
A founding member and fellow of the London Institute of 'Pataphysics.
