Join us for our next Open Crit at Camden Art Centre on Saturday, 6 June 2026, at 11am.
We will explore Resistant Forms, London’s first major survey of the Guyanese-British ceramicist, painter and sculptor Donald Locke (1930–2010). Bringing together works spanning five decades, the exhibition traces Locke’s restless experimentation across a range of media, revealing an artist who profoundly shaped post-war art. Experimental and evolving, Locke’s practice is marked by formal ingenuity alongside an engagement with history, identity and power.
Open Crit sessions offer an opportunity to share thoughts freely and in direct response to artworks on display. No prior knowledge of the artist’s work or curatorial intentions is needed, just a willingness to engage in lively conversation and thought exchange.
