Zhexi Zhang

Gary Zhexi Zhang is an artist and writer. His writing has appeared in ArtReview, Frieze, FOAM, ArtReview, King's Review, SLEEK, Elephant, AIGA Eye on Design, Walker Soundboard, Klima, and the 3rd Exhibitions Reviews Annual. Recent publication chapters include Steve Bishop: Deliquescence (Sternberg Press), Resisting Reduction (MIT Press) and Self-Service (eds. Ilona Sagar and Kirsty Hendry, Glasgow International).
Recent exhibitions and screenings include the Swamp School at the Venice Architecture Biennale; The Internet as a City, 2nd Decentralized Web Summit; Cross-feed at Glasgow International 2018, vdrome.org (online) and All Channels Open at Wysing Arts Centre. Recent residencies include Delfina Foundation, Schloss Web (with Agnes Cameron), SPACE Art & Technology, Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art, Praksis Oslo, CCA Glasgow and Wysing Arts Centre.
Zhang is a founding member of the collaborative research studio Foreign Objects, based at NEW INC. at the New Museum. He teaches at Parsons School of Design and is a Film Study Center Fellow at Harvard University (2019-20).
