Jane Boyd

Artist and author

Jane Boyd has received international recognition for her large-scale work in light-based installation and in drawing, having been the recipient of a number of prestigious fellowships and awards. Her work has provoked peer-reviewed publications concerning art and architecture and a co-authored monograph on Velázquez. In 2011 she was elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. She has contributed to many Fine Arts programmes, most notably at the University of the London Arts and University of Wales College Newport. Further afield she has devised and directed workshops for the New York Studio School, Sydney College of Arts and Tilburg Academie voor Beeldende Vorming. Her practice in light-based installation typically results in major works of an ephemeral nature made in situ although she is also a frequent exhibitor of more durable works in the gallery context. Her work is represented in museums and private collections in Canada, Australia and across Europe.
